Rose Ann Franzone's Learning Story

Stories

It was in Saint Mary’s High School in Rutherford,NJ. My American History teacher, Sister Virginia Pierre. We had been studing the Great Depression, it was a Monday morning and as we walked into her class there was grainy music playing,”Happy days are here again…”She was showering us with confetti and streamers and all around the class were poster-sized pictures of the day of Roosevelt’s election. V.P., as we called her made history come alive. And this was way back in 1970, when technology was limited. She and other memorable teachers in my 13 years of Catholic School Education, as I call it, did much to inspire me to become an educator some by their successes others by thier failures.
