We learned through hands on activity. One of our favorite activities involved a marshmellow and the students patience. Our professor gave us each one marshmellow and told us not to eat it until she told us to. If we waited to eat the marshmellow we would receive 2 more as a reward. This challenge taught us delayed gratification. It is important to have delayed gratification in our classrooms for the students to be more goal oriented. We learned that the students who are patient and waited to eat the marshmellow earned a greater reward in then end. This can be similar in life changing situations, student that study hard instead of slacking off in school will go through school gaining the knowledge they need to be successfull in life.
